Information<\/h3>\n

Ah, the Macallan. \u00a0Thought by some to be the undisputed champion of sherried whiskies. \u00a0Is that true? \u00a0I’m not sure. \u00a0But everyone should have a taste of Macallan 12 at some point – especially before demand outstrips supply!<\/p>\n

Nose<\/h3>\n

Your classic sherry bomb. \u00a0Rich druied fruits, brown sugar and spice. \u00a0Winey, red grapes. \u00a0Cloves and cinnamon. \u00a0Some sweet orange notes, and a hint of salt. \u00a0A bit of unlit match. \u00a0Has a similarity to Armagnac.<\/p>\n

Palate<\/h3>\n

Sherry Sherry Sherry. \u00a0Syrupy mouthfeel. \u00a0Dark oranges, christmas spices, and sweet melon. \u00a0A hint of aged cheese bitterness.<\/p>\n

Finish<\/h3>\n

Some similarities to Sherry. \u00a0Sometimes a bit off-putting, actually, but expected as it is sherry matured (sherry has a dry bitternes to it). \u00a0Medium in length.<\/p>\n

Conclusion<\/h3>\n

A very well done sherry malt. \u00a0Strangely, I have to be “in the mood” for this one – sometimes it is great, other times it doesn’t sit right. \u00a0When it’s good, it’s great, although a bit one-dimensional.<\/p>\n
