Information<\/h3>\n

The older and more refined brother of Macallan 12, the Macallan 18 comes in at three times the price. \u00a0If you can’t afford a whole bottle, you can often find samples of Macallan 18 packed with bottles of Macallan 12.<\/p>\n

Nose<\/h3>\n

Rich sherry syrup. \u00a0Deep red fruits. \u00a0Sweet apples and cocoa. \u00a0Much more balanced alcohol compared to Macallan 12. \u00a0Slight lemon and vanilla cream. \u00a0A hint of unlit match and dry woodiness. \u00a0Doesn’t take too much water.<\/p>\n

Palate<\/h3>\n

Oily rich. \u00a0Warm cloves, cinnamon, and cocoa. \u00a0The alcohol has mellowed quite well. \u00a0None of the bitterness of Macallan 12 – it seems replaced with a nice dry cocoa note.<\/p>\n

Finish<\/h3>\n

A quick hint of pepper. \u00a0Medium in length – not as long as I expected. \u00a0Vanilla in the back of your throat. \u00a0Smoothly fades away.<\/p>\n

Conclusion<\/h3>\n

The alcohol has softened surprisingly well. \u00a0 This is essentially a richer, more mellow Macallan 12. \u00a0Again, a bit one-dimensional like the 12, but still well worth trying at least a sample.<\/p>\n
