Information<\/h3>\n

Caol Ila is primarily a blending whisky, being used in Johnnie Walker, Bells, and Black Bottle, among others. \u00a0Considered one of the “Lighter” Islay whiskies, in actuality it has quite a bit of flavor!<\/p>\n

Nose<\/h3>\n

Balance! \u00a0Medium smoke, medium salt, medium iodine. \u00a0Honey, sweet lemon. \u00a0Hints of coconut, peach, and grapefruit.<\/p>\n

Palate<\/h3>\n

Initial sweetness, followed by a growing smokiness. \u00a0Pepper, vanilla, and toffee. \u00a0well balanced.<\/p>\n

Finish<\/h3>\n

Moderate smoke. \u00a0A bit dry. \u00a0A hint of nice bitterness.<\/p>\n

Conclusion<\/h3>\n

For those who find Laphroaig to be a bit too Iodine or Ardbeg too bright, this is a great alternative. \u00a0The balance of this whisky is, in a word, incredible. \u00a0Glad I bought it at the price I did.<\/p>\n
