Information<\/h3>\n

The Classic is matured\u00a0exclusively\u00a0in ex-bourbon casks, which is relatively uncommon (most whiskies will have some sherry influence for balance).<\/p>\n

Gaelic for ‘corner of the field’, Auchentoshan is the only triple distilled scotch whisky. \u00a0It’s probable that Auchentoshan\u00a0was founded by Irish distillers, thus the triple distillation (which is more common for Irish distilleries).<\/p>\n

Nose<\/h3>\n

Youthful and a little hot (I recommend a touch of water). \u00a0Vanilla, pears. Powdered sugar icing, lemon oil.\u00a0A copper note like a penny in soda water.<\/p>\n

Palate<\/h3>\n

Clean and a bit hot again. \u00a0Corn syrup & honey.<\/p>\n

Finish<\/h3>\n

A bit of saccharin. \u00a0Short, sweet, and off you go.<\/p>\n

Conclusion<\/h3>\n

Basically, Auchentoshan did an incredible job creating an an 80-ish rated whisky. \u00a0It’s not a life changer, but its very drinkable. \u00a0Great when you’re not in the mood for a ton of complexity.<\/p>\n
