I was playing around with Picasa the other day and decided to see what it would take to plug my Photo Gallery Maker<\/a> gallery into Picasa. \u00a0Turns out it’s relatively easy. \u00a0I’ll save the “How does this thing work” post for later. \u00a0For now, I’ve posted an installer and a zip of the templates. \u00a0I’ve only tested the installer on Windows 64-bit, so if it doesn’t work you can download the .zip and do a manual install.<\/p>\n

You’ll need one of these:<\/p>\n

PGMForPicasa0.1.exe<\/a> – The Installer<\/p>\n

PGMForPicasa0.1.zip<\/a> – a zip of the templates<\/p>\n

To Install Manually<\/h2>\n

Unzip the contents of PGMForPicasa0.1.zip to (by default) “C:\\Program Files\\Google\\Picasa\\web\\templates<\/em>“. \u00a0That’s the default install directory. \u00a0On my Windows 7 PC it’s actually “C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Google\\Picasa3\\web\\templates”<\/p>\n

How To Use It<\/h2>\n

Here’s how to use the templates in Picasa once you’ve got them installed:<\/p>\n

  1. Select a folder or album<\/li>\n
  2. Go to Folder (or Album)->Export as HTML Page…<\/li>\n

  3. It’ll show you a dialog like this:\"Picasa<\/li>\n
  4. Choose your image size (I may attempt to force a larger export size in a later version), select a destination, and click export.<\/li>\n
  5. Picasa will create an album just like those created by Photo Gallery Maker<\/a> and you can use it however you like.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
